Certified Medical Assistant - Anderson

iTrust Wellness is seeking an actively certified Medical Assistant to join our outpatient mental health practice (Anderson, SC) in a primarily patient services–focused role. This position is ideal for someone with a strong interest in mental health, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient experiences in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.While this is a Medical Assistant position, the role is largely administrative and patient-facing (approximately 70%), with a smaller clinical component (approximately 30%). As a growing organization, we value team members who are adaptable, tech-savvy, and motivated to support efficient, high-quality patient care.Position OverviewThis role blends front-office coordination with limited clinical responsibilities to support providers and ensure a seamless patient experience.Primary Responsibilities (Patient Services Focus)Managing incoming and outgoing patient communication (phone calls, messages, and other correspondence) and documenting interactions accuratelyScheduling, rescheduling, and confirming appointmentsChecking patients in and out, collecting payments, and coordinating follow-up appointmentsAssisting patients with general questions regarding services, forms, and office policiesGaining proficiency in the EMR system to enhance workflow and patient satisfactionCompleting prior authorization requests for medicationsCommunicating with pharmacies and other medical offices regarding prescriptions and care coordinationMaintaining accurate patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelinesCollaborating closely with providers and administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operationsSupporting company culture and upholding organizational valuesAssisting with staffing needs at other iTrust Wellness locations as neededPerforming additional duties as assignedClinical Responsibilities (Approximately 30%)Collecting vital signs as neededAdministering clinical testing, including UDS panels and GeneSight swabsPreparing and administering injectable medications when requiredMaintaining clinical supplies and medication inventoryMaintaining active certificationRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentCurrent Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential (in accordance with state laws), maintained in good standingCurrent CPR/BLS certificationStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standardsPreferred QualificationsExperience or interest in the mental health fieldPrevious experience in a front desk, patient services, or administrative role in healthcare settingsFamiliarity with EMR systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)Experience in a private practice or outpatient settingSchedule:Monday–Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.This is an onsite role; candidates must be able to work in-office during standard business hours.iTrust Wellness Group, LLC is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace and proudly provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.Note: This job description is intended to convey essential duties and responsibilities and is not an exhaustive list of all functions and tasks required.
