Software Engineer
US Citizenship is required.About BoulevardHeadquartered in Arlington, VA, BoulevardLabs is the software, data science, AI, and advanced analytics division of The Boulevard Consulting Group, built to help federal government clients solve complex mission challenges with modern, secure, and highly practical technology. Our team sits at the intersection of software engineering, applied artificial intelligence, data engineering, predictive modeling, and decision science; turning fragmented operational data into intelligent tools, actionable insights, and mission-ready digital products. We focus on building solutions that are not only technically advanced, but usable, scalable, and directly tied to outcomes that matter: better readiness, faster decisions, improved efficiency, and smarter use of resources. What You'll DoAs a Computer Scientist at BoulevardLabs, you’ll support Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) by helping design, develop, and improve software, analytical tools, models, simulations, and data-driven applications that support Naval Aviation readiness and sustainment decision-making. You’ll apply computer science principles to solve practical problems across software, data systems, decision-support products, and mission-focused digital capabilities. You’ll work on solutions that help collect, integrate, analyze, and present maintenance, supply, cost, operations, configuration, engineering, and readiness data. Your work may include developing software prototypes, improving analytical applications, supporting dashboard and model integration, designing algorithms, developing data processing workflows, and contributing to technical documentation. These products will help COMFRC leadership better understand readiness drivers, maintenance and supply chain degraders, cost impacts, operational tradeoffs, and opportunities to improve mission capable aircraft rates, reduce non-mission capable rates, decrease out-of-reporting counts, and lower sustainment cost.Who You'll Work WithYou’ll work with BoulevardLabs software engineers, data engineers, data scientists, operations research analysts, logistics specialists, cost analysts, and program leadership supporting COMFRC and related Naval Aviation stakeholders. You may coordinate with Government customers, application owners, database teams, cybersecurity personnel, functional users, and technical stakeholders to understand mission needs, define requirements, develop solutions, and support implementation.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.U.S. Citizenship required.3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.Experience developing software, analytical tools, algorithms, models, simulations, dashboards, or decision-support products.Experience applying computer science principles to solve software, hardware, data processing, systems, or information science problems.Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, C++, R, SQL, or similar.Familiarity with software development concepts, data structures, algorithms, databases, APIs, testing, documentation, and deployment practices.Experience collecting, processing, analyzing, or visualizing complex operational or technical data.Ability to translate user requirements into functional software, analytical workflows, technical designs, or prototype capabilities.Ability to perform functional duties independently with limited supervision.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting DoD, Navy, readiness analytics, logistics systems, or Government-owned applications.Experience developing software or analytical capabilities for maintenance, supply, cost, operations, engineering, readiness, logistics, or sustainment use cases.Familiarity with and/or interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics, simulation, optimization, data engineering, or decision science.Experience supporting cloud, containerized, DevSecOps, or secure software delivery environments.Experience developing or integrating dashboards, models, simulations, APIs, data pipelines, or customer-facing analytical applications.Experience creating technical documentation, user guidance, training materials, interface documentation, or implementation support materials.Familiarity with cybersecurity, information assurance, access controls, secure coding, automated testing, or Government system documentation expectations.
