Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE)LocationGoodyear, Arizona | On-SiteEmployment TypeFull-Time | ExemptPosition SummaryThe Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE) supports New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring quality is designed and built into products and processes from concept through production launch. This role partners closely with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.This position requires hands-on experience with both mechanical and electrical systems, along with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality planning, and problem-solving methodologies.Key ResponsibilitiesNew Product Introduction (NPI)Lead quality activities for NPI programs from design through launchParticipate in design reviews and provide Design for Quality (DFQ) inputSupport Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)Develop core APQP deliverables (PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flows)Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and production readinessIdentify and mitigate quality risks during developmentMechanical & Electrical QualityReview mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsValidate product requirements (fit, form, function)Support quality for:Mechanical fabrication (sheet metal, weldments, machining)Electrical assemblies (panels, wiring, power systems)Assist in development of inspection methods, fixtures, and test plansAPQP & Launch ReadinessLead APQP execution and documentationSupport PPAP submissions when requiredDefine inspection and validation strategiesEnsure manufacturing readiness prior to launchSupplier QualityPartner with suppliers during NPI and productionSupport supplier qualification and capability assessmentsDrive corrective actions and ensure compliance to specificationsProblem Solving & Continuous ImprovementLead root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why)Drive corrective and preventive actionsSupport continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and wasteQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related)5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or NPI QualityExperience supporting both mechanical and electrical productsStrong understanding of APQP, PFMEA, and Control PlansAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsExperience in a manufacturing environmentPreferredExperience with modular systems or power distribution equipmentSupplier quality experienceSix Sigma or Lean certificationExperience with high-mix, low-volume manufacturingSkillsAPQP / PPAPRoot Cause AnalysisGD&T (preferred)Quality Systems & Inspection MethodsCross-functional collaborationWork EnvironmentOn-site manufacturing environmentMust be able to travel 100% at short noticeHands-on support on production floorOccasional supplier interaction or travelAbout GTI EnergyGTI Energy designs and manufactures modular systems for energy, industrial, and infrastructure applications.
