Engineering Technician II

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for an Engineering Technician II with our healthcare client in Batesville, IN. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.Pay: $25.00 - $28.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Test Engineering Technician to join our Manufacturing Test Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing test systems, including Functional Circuit Test (FCT) solutions.This position requires a strong foundation in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams in a regulated manufacturing environment.When you join us, you will work with a team of committed individuals who trust one another to deliver results. We value innovation and out of the box thinking, balanced with strong collaboration across functions.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Manufacturing Test Engineers to understand design requirements and support manufacturing test and Functional Circuit Test (FCT) processesMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair PCBA FCT fixtures and test stands, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic componentsPerform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) on test fixtures and test systems to ensure reliability, repeatability, and uptimeSupport test system maintenance, including test PCs, instrumentation (DMMs, power supplies, switches), cabling, and interfacesDiagnose and resolve fixture and test system related failures impacting production yield, efficiency, or throughputPartner with Test Engineers to debug hardware and software issues related to FCT systemsExecute and document fixture verifications following maintenance, repairs, or design changesAssist with fixture builds, modifications, and ECO implementationsMaintain accurate documentation, including PM records, repair logs, and calibration statusWork cross functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with ESD, safety, quality, and regulatory standardsParticipate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to test system failuresRequired Qualifications:Associate degree or 3+ years of relevant experience in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Computer System Technology, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting Functional Circuit Test (FCT) systems in a manufacturing environment; medical device experience is strongly preferred.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and regulatory requirements, including FDA regulations.Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment (including multimeters and oscilloscopes), hand tools, soldering equipment, and assembly tools.Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate test data, identify trends, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to independently prioritize work, take ownership of issues, and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision.Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.Ability to perform physical tasks associated with a manufacturing environment, including lifting equipment weighing up to 40 lbs and standing for extended periods.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with automated test software, such as LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar platformsExperience working in a PCBA manufacturing environment, supporting production test, fixtures, or manufacturing processesBasic programming or scripting exposure (Python, VB, C#, or similar) used for test support or troubleshootingStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality and continuous improvementAbility to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and technical documentationExperience working in an ISO 13485 or FDA regulated manufacturing environmentPrimary Talent Partners is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
