Senior Tax Accountant

The Senior Tax Accountant will be exposed to various tax concepts involving domestic and international regulations, workforce mobility and tax treaties.ResponsibilitiesPrepare/review federal, state, local, and international tax filings (including partnership, sales/use, VAT, and property tax returns) and supporting workpapersCoordinate and monitor U.S. and foreign tax obligations with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure timely complianceAssist with quarterly tax estimates, extensions, and maintenance of the compliance calendarAnalyze tax-related general ledger accounts, payments, and accruals; investigate variances and resolve discrepanciesMaintain partner tax records and elections; ensure consistency of tax data across systemsWork with the Partner Accounting team on tax matters, including estimated taxes for current and departed partners and reporting for non-active partnersManage state Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET) elections, calculations, payments, and related reporting across multiple jurisdictions; coordinate with partners and external advisors to ensure proper treatment, and alignment with individual partner tax positionsManage tax notices and inquiries, including coordination with external advisors; support internal and external auditsResearch federal, state, and international tax issues and prepare technical memoranda; monitor legislative and regulatory developmentsSupport and enhance tax-related systems and processes, including identifying automation opportunities and improving data flow and reporting efficiencyCollaborate cross-functionally within Finance and other departments to improve data flow, reporting efficiency, and internal controlsLead or contribute to special projects and ad hoc analyses as neededQualifications 5+ years of tax accounting experience in public accountingBachelor’s Degree in AccountingCPA or EA is preferredPartnership experience is preferredAdvanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office toolsAbility to work independently, effectively and accurately under tight deadlinesMust be detail-oriented with strong planning and organization skillsStrong interpersonal and client service skillsThis position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000.
