Respiratory Care Supervisor / Full Time / DaysElevate your career at Wood County Hospital, where you're not just a number you're a vital part of a team making a real difference.Respiratory Care Services requires direction by a medical director, a respiratory care director and supervisor(s) with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver the highest quality patient care and compassion using skilled clinicians and resources. This is a statement describing the role of a respiratory care professional as a Respiratory Care Supervisor. Respiratory Care Supervisor shall be registered through the National Board of Respiratory Care. He/She shall assist and/or provide respiratory care services by monitoring patients' conditions; keeping members of the health care team informed; providing life-sustaining services; educating the community; supervising and educating staff. He/She shall provide professional excellence by assisting and supporting the Director in the smooth operation of the department. He/She shall be able to perform all of the services offered under Respiratory Care. He/She also maintains current Respiratory Care Practitioner Ohio licensure and BLS, NRP, PALS and ACLS certifications.Major Tasks, Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists department director with human resource objectives by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.Meets respiratory care operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.Keeps members of the health care team apprised of patients' conditions by presenting respiratory treatment plans to physicians; gaining approval; rendering treatments; evaluating results.Reports the activities of the department and staff by identifying, collecting, and reporting relevant statistical data.Assists department director in maintaining operations and meeting budget goals of the Respiratory Care Department.Provides life-saving therapies by responding to code and rapid response alerts; assists health care team in providing care; participating member of the Code Blue Care Committee.Educates the community by participating in health-education projects.Maintains safe operation of respiratory care equipment by adhering to governmental and hospital safety regulations; evaluating new equipment and techniques; maintaining inventory of equipment and related medical supplies; preventive maintenance; adjust equipment; troubleshooting malfunctions; arranging for repairs through BioMed services.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree required.Graduate of an approved respiratory care program.Registered through the National Board of Respiratory Care.Respiratory Care license through Ohio Medical Board.BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP Certifications.Five years of Respiratory Care in an acute setting, including general, critical and emergency care.Prior supervisory experience preferred.Full time.Dayshift.40 hrs./week.Flexibility to meet department, staffing coverage needs.Benefits Summary
