Legal Billing Specialist

San Francisco based Family Law Firm seeking top candidates to fill a key role within our Client Services Billing team!**Recruiting agencies please do not contact the firm directly regarding this post.Key experience requirements:Candidates must live in California (San Francisco Bay Area preferred). This is a primarily remote role, but occasional in-office work and training may be required.Must have 5+ years of legal billing experience.Experience must include pre-bill review and bill preparation.3-5 years' experience in AR/collections working directly with customers by phone and email.Must have verifiable high success rate of collecting while maintaining customer retention.3-5 years' experience accounting, auditing and finance (AR, billing, AP, month end billing cycle).Ability to manage high volume email inquiries while balancing time sensitive competing priorities.Must maintain positive attitude and composure while assisting clients through sensitive conversations.High regard for discretion.Advanced Excel skills.Solid experience in ERP and coding is a plus.Salesforce, Trello, Clio, Sage Timeslips Premium, Zola/Caret Legal experience preferred.Ability to work additional evening and weekend hours during training period and on an ongoing basis in support of monthly billing cycle.Primary Responsibilities:Daily report preparation and analysis.Daily distribution of reports to legal team with detailed emails highlighting priority billing cases.Conduct weekly case list calls with attorney.Share in responsibility of supporting high volume email inbox and provide prompt replies.Daily outreach to assigned collection accounts by phone and email; tracking of payments received and documentation of all collection communication and follow up tasks.Posting of client payments in firm's CRM.Manage end of day reconciliation and reporting.Run daily pre bill report for all open matters and audit all billing entries.Edit billing entries within scope of assignment; outreach to legal team for clarification; make recommendations for updates to Client Services Director.Support intake and review of disputes. Prepare dispute outlines and coordinate review with legal team, providing complete draft to Client Services Director for review.Participate in and co-manage monthly billing cycle in partnership with Client Services Director and Client Services Managers.Understands and supports the requirement to work additional hours (evenings and weekends) during training period and each monthly billing cycle.Salaried exempt position15 paid holidays, generous PTO, Profit Sharing contribution, Medical, Dental and Vision upon eligibilityFull-time salaried exempt position.
