Job Description:REPORTS TO: Building PrincipalQUALIFICATIONS:The Paraprofessional shall have a high school diploma, plus 60 college credit hours, or receive apassing score on the paraprofessional assessment. As well as the skills and ability to work withstudents in a group or in a one-on-one situation, and any other requirements as may be deemednecessary for this position by the Board of Education.JOB GOAL:To assist students in the classroom supporting students' academic and personal growth within aschool environment. They aim to enhance student learning, reinforce classroom instruction, andcontribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. Specific goals may include assistingwith classroom management, providing individualized or small group support, reinforcinglessons, and monitoring student progress.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. Assist students with disabilities according to their individualized needs, includingtransferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, or positioning2. Assist students with physical care including feeding, bathroom needs, and personalhygiene3. Assist in managing the behavior of students4. Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students5. Maintain confidentiality of information about children and their families in accordancewith Board policy and law6. Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and special events asrequested by administration7. Help supervise arrival and departure of students to which he or she is assigned.8.
