Education Specialist

Job Summary Solid Foundation Services, a company based in South Fulton, GA, is seeking a dedicated and highly independent Education Specialist to join our team. The Education Specialist will work under the limited supervision of school leadership to provide academic and behavioral support to elementary aged scholars with an IEP. This role is essential in implementing learning strategies to close reading, writing, and math gaps. Additionally, this role may also support children needing behavioral support. The candidate will develop learning plans and implement accommodations based on individual student strengths and weaknesses. Duties Implement IEPs tailored to each student’s needs. Monitor student progress toward learning goals. Collaborate with families, general educators, and support staff to support student growth. Ensure compliance with federal and state special education laws (e.g., IDEA, Section 504). Provide specialized instruction in areas such as reading, writing, math, social skills, or executive functioning. Support scholars in small groups, one-on-one settings, or co-teach in general education classrooms. Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify student needs. Use data to refine instruction and interventions. Address behaviors that interfere with learning in a proactive way. Requirements Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred. Student teaching or internship in a special education classroom is acceptable. 1–2 years of teaching experience (can include substitute teaching or paraprofessional work). Experience with IEP development, accommodations/modifications, and behavioral support plans is essential. Understanding of: IDEA, 504 Plans, and FAPE/LRE principles IEP creation, progress monitoring, and legal compliance Evidence-based instructional strategies for diverse learners Knowledge of classroom and behavior management systems Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff and families Clear background check/fingerprinting Job Type: Part-time Pay: $22.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible schedule Professional development assistance Experience: Special education: 5 years (Preferred) License/Certification: bachelor's degree (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Union City, GA 30291 (Preferred) Work Location: In person
