Registered Respiratory Therapist Location: Craig, CO Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,203 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: Certified Respiratory Therapist Profession: Cardiopulmonary Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: At least one year of respiratory experience in a hospital setting License: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Certifications: BLS certification, NRP certification Must-Have: Graduate from a COARC approved Respiratory Care Program CRT Credential according to guidelines set forth by the NBRC Description: The Certified Respiratory Therapist is responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered per physician. Emphasis is placed on specialty areas such as Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care. Duties include monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, patient assessment, and understanding hemodynamic monitoring. The therapist must understand and interpret blood work results, monitor patient conditions, and provide teaching and training. Responsibilities include competent delivery of all respiratory care procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual. Accurate and complete documentation of all respiratory care procedures is required. The therapist is responsible for verifying physician orders for respiratory care. Updating and completing patient information to reflect current clinical status is essential. Participation in department in-services, meetings, patient care rounds, and mandatory hospital meetings is expected. Maintaining clear communication with the supervisor regarding changes in workload and patient acuity is important. Entering daily services and charges given to patients in the department's computer system must be performed. Demonstrating excellent working knowledge of respiratory care instruments and equipment is required. Effective airway management, including bag/mask ventilation, must be performed. This role may require assistance with intubation tasks and demonstration of suction techniques and use of artificial airways. The therapist will assist in the orientation and training of new employees and students. Performing arterial blood gas draws is a key responsibility. The therapist must initiate, maintain, and monitor ventilator patients while interpreting flow volumes and pressure volume curves. Completion of required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements, is mandatory. Complying with established personal protective equipment requirements is essential for safety. Patient charge reconciliation is part of the responsibilities. Accuracy and timeliness in payroll submission are required. A working knowledge of all cardiopulmonary equipment is expected. Proficient performance in all assigned modalities provided by cardiopulmonary is necessary. The therapist must accurately translate medications into appropriate doses for neonatal and pediatric patients. Assessing geriatric patients for special needs using proper procedures is part of the role. A full assessment of patient respiratory status, along with making recommendations for therapeutic interventions, is required. Knowledge and skills necessary for providing care appropriate to the age of patients served must be demonstrated. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Commitment to organizational values and professionalism is crucial. Effective communication and relationship-building with patients, staff, and vendors are expected. Adherence to dress code policies is required. Utilizing initiative and maintaining productivity levels is important.
