In this role, you will help lead safety initiatives across the facility by coordinating training, supporting safety committees and emergency response efforts, conducting audits and incident investigations, and maintaining environmental and regulatory compliance. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact on workplace safety while working with a team that values accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.About this opportunityThe Safety Manager manages all aspects of Health and Safety of facility personnel through managing established health and safety programs.What you will doAt least 70% of time is required to be spent in the production environment performing standard work consisting of items listed below (not an all-inclusive list):Workplace inspectionsRisk Assessments – New and UpdatingSafety Walks with Plant LeadershipSafety Walks – Safety TeamContractor InspectionsProgrammed safety focused audits (TC Program based)Management of Change (Machines, work areas, etc.)Updating safety communications, and contractor safety boardsManaging employee's safety concernsAt least 20% of time will be required to handle environmental tasks (if applicable at the site).Read/understand all permits.Perform weekly inspections Hazardous Waste Storage AreaPerform Stormwater InspectionsSign Waste ManifestsPerform environmental/DOT training.Prepare and submit all required reports monthly/quarterly/semiannual/annually.Chemical review for environmental impactGather/record all environmental data (Monthly air emissions, Oxidizer readings, etc.)Periodic review of government websites for regulation changesBalance of time used for administrative tasks.Leads Safety Team (Agendas, Facilitate, Meeting Minutes, Corrective Action Completion)Ensures that local authorities, regulations, rules and codes, programs, and policies related to safety are observed. Including interfacing with authorities when requiredParticipates in the programs and policies corporate safety audit and follow up.Reviews and updates plant documents complying with TC Corporate programs.Ensures that accident/injury investigations are completed, causes of incidents are identified and preventive action steps are completed, and effective over time. Directly participates in accident investigations whenever feasible.Ensures all safety documentation is maintained.In coordination with Human Resources, ensures that all required safety training is developed, scheduled, and conducted and managed according to an established timeline.
