CNC OPERATOR - CABINET SHOP

JOB SUMMARY:Produces aircraft parts using CNC equipment, shop tools, and standard aircraft materials at or above the expected standards of safety, quality, schedule and cost, using engineering and industrial definitions, procedures and guidelines that support the delivery to the aircraft for all aircraft models. Promote and Foster a positive work environment, and display a respectful attitude.PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):Work with CNC programs, 2D/3D data, company standards, work instructions, and performs necessary calculations using math to complete tasks related to making aircraft partsSet up, operate, perform calibrations and preventive maintenance on all standard shop equipment or tools related to the CNC process according to specificationsPerform non-CNC machine related processes per procedures and standards with emphasis on quality, consistency and safetySelect and verifies materials from stock to manufacture parts and maintain traceability of materials per processCommunicate and interact with programmers and management to understand intricacies of programs and to efficiently operate the machinesPromptly inform Team Leader and maintenance of any unplanned machine down timePerforms quality and self-checks of fabricated items per company proceduresDetermine work to be accomplished, to complete assignments within established plans accordingly to expected standards of safety, quality, schedule and costAccurately log computerized labor data collection for time and attendance trackingLearn the capability of running multiple types of CNC MachinesCreates and attaches parts identification labels to completed parts when applicableCommunicates and interacts well with co-workers and managementMaintain a clean and organized work areaWorks in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety proceduresSupports and propose continuous improvement to managementEmbraces ACE values with peers and helps foster a work environment aimed at operational excellencePerform all other duties as assignedNON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):Other duties as assignedMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent6 Months of CNC machining experienceAbility to learn one (1) CNC Machine below with emphasis on quality, consistency and safety3 axis double table Start-up / Shut Down and Operating System3 axis single table Start-up / Shut Down and Operating SystemMust have the ability to learn or knowledgeable in all aspects in One (1) of the below items with emphasis on quality, consistency and safetyInsert preparation and installationEdgefill flat and curved panelsBurn ProcessGerber MachineASP processGood mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic machine principlesGood communication skillsConscious of the importance of schedules and budgetsBasic computer skillsAble to use and work with common hand toolsAbility to set up and operate and perform preventive maintenance on all standard equipment or tools related to the CNC Machining processAble to work with engineering and industrial definition using 2D/3D data, company standards and work instructions to CNC machine aircraft cabinet componentsGood working knowledge of math and geometry and able to work in both metric and imperial units of measureAbility to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodationVisual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high cost products with a minimum of errors and reworkMust be able to work with adhesives and chemicalsMust not be abnormally allergic to solvents, or other CNC related products that produce fumes or dust while usingADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Programming knowledge and/or experienceAbility to solve practical problems when neededAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram formWORKING CONDITIONS:Typical factory environment. May work in areas with high noise levels and limited climate control. May work in a confined space. Works with company's approved adhesives and chemicals. May encounter safety hazards such as mechanical hazards (moving machine parts) and health hazards (dust and fumes).COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:The compensation for this position typically falls between $22 and $29 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for a shift differential or relocation assistance.
