This role focuses on designing and validating analog and digital circuits for embedded systems under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leads. The Embedded Hardware Engineer II works closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and product development teams to ensure hardware designs meet performance, reliability, safety, and compliance requirements. This position is a hands‑on technical role that will continue to grow depth in embedded electronics design for Enerpac products.Shift: Monday – Friday, evenings and weekends may be requiredJob Duties And ResponsibilitiesUnder the guidance of senior engineersDesign and develop analog and digital circuits for embedded systems to meet design requirements for performance, cost, and reliability.Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.Document designs, test results, and compliance reports thoroughly.Support EMC compliance activities to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to ensure designs meet electromechanical constraints.Perform hands‑on testing and validation using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, and dynamometers.Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware issues during developmental testing and at manufacturing.Support product integration of firmware and electronics.Technical ExpertiseSkills and Competencies Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design principles.Proficiency in PCB design tools, preferably Altium Designer.Understanding of power electronics and mixed-signal design.Familiarity with electromechanical integration and constraints.Knowledge of EMC/EMI design practices and compliance standards.Testing & ValidationSkilled in using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, dynamometers).Ability to perform thorough validation and troubleshooting.Collaboration & CommunicationStrong ability to work cross-functionally with mechanical and firmware teams.Excellent documentation and communication skills.Education And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.Minimum of +3 years of experience in embedded hardware design.Familiarity with analog and digital circuit design for embedded systems.Hands-on experience with PCB design and layout using Altium.Exposure to embedded systems involving microcontrollers, sensors, or power electronics.Familiarity with line‑voltage or battery‑powered systems preferred.Experience designing for EMC compliance and regulatory standards.Preferred: Experience with motor control systems, power management, power supply design, and safety-critical designs.Physical DemandsEmployee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee may have to lift demonstration tooling up to 100 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. This can include occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee can work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Will have repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.Work EnvironmentPrimary work environment is temperature-controlled office setting but may also be visiting different customers where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required.
