Semen Sexing Lab Technician

The Part-Time Semen Sexing Lab Technician I supports daily operations in our semen sexing laboratory through hands-on training and guided experience. In this position, you'll learn how to prepare and process samples, use specialized lab equipment, support inventory and data tracking, and maintain a clean, organized lab environment.This role is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who has a science or animal science background and is eager to gain practical lab experience in a supportive, team-oriented setting at our Boonsboro, MD facility.RESPONSIBILITIESAssist the lab team with daily semen lab production tasksLearn and support sample preparation, mixing, staining, and basic evaluationsAssist with setup, operation, and cleaning of lab equipment, including MoFlo systemsHelp track sorting data and verify sample information under supervisionSupport semen inventory activities, including pulling samples for fertilizations and shipmentsPrepare lab supplies and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environmentFollow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelinesCommunicate openly with team members and ask questions as part of ongoing trainingQUALIFICATIONSLab or industry experience preferredTwo- or four-year science-related degree preferred (Animal Science, Biology, or similar)Interest in laboratory work and willingness to learn technical processesAbility to work in an indoor lab setting and lift up to 50 poundsStrong attention to detail and comfort following step-by-step instructionsBasic computer skills and ability to complete simple data entryGood communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitudeWillingness to work a part-time schedule that may include weekends and holidays
