Oversees appeals, sales tax returns, and other corporate filings.Prepares and reviews the analysis of tax adjustments and general ledger allocations. Prepares and reviews federal tax returns for corporate and partnership entities.Assists with the quarterly and annual tax provision for consolidated group as well as stand-alone reporting.Assists with fixed assets records regarding determining when to capitalize or expense for tax purposes as well as determining tax lives, methods and conventions. Also prepares quarterly and annual roll-forward analysis and annual gain/loss analysis. Main point of contact for CorpTax software to prepare and electronically file tax returns. Utilization of computer software for tax research, calendar system and tax planning. Participates in department discussions by bringing different perspectives to current procedures and processes.Actively participates in daily discussions involving workplace responsibilities in order to promote a team atmosphere.Provides technical guidance to Tax Analysts. Reviews the work of the Analyst and provides informal feedback. This job description represents an overview of the responsibilities for the above referenced position. An associate should perform all duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceCertifications, Licenses, And Other Special RequirementsCPA or MST a plusManagement/Decision MakingUses limited independent judgment to make decisions based on precedents and established guidelines. Solves problems using standard procedures and precedents. Knows when to refer issues to supervisor and when to handle them personally.Knowledge And SkillsHas a working knowledge of Excel and Word. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Uses current and developing technology and tools to enhance current processes and procedures. Respects and protects confidential company information. Maintains a professional development plan to continually develop technical skills consistent with the company’s requirements and philosophy.
