Job Description Job Title: Estimator – Exterior Cladding & Building EnvelopeLocation: Charleston, SC or Charlotte, NC or Savannah, GAPosition SummaryA reputable commercial construction contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator specializing in exterior cladding and building envelope systems. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive bids and supporting preconstruction efforts for façade-related scopes across a variety of commercial projects.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for exterior cladding systems, including metal panels, ACM, fiber cement, insulated panels, EIFS, stucco, siding, and rainscreen assembliesReview architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and bid documents to define scope and identify risksSolicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier quotesDevelop scope clarifications, exclusions, and value engineering optionsCollaborate with project managers, architects, and general contractors during preconstructionTrack bid opportunities and manage multiple estimates in a deadline-driven environmentMaintain and update cost databases, unit pricing, and historical project dataAssist with project handoff to operations teams upon awardQualifications3+ years of estimating experience in exterior cladding, façade systems, or related construction tradesStrong understanding of building envelope principles, including waterproofing, air barriers, and thermal systemsAbility to read and interpret construction documents, details, and specificationsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating/takeoff softwareEffective communication and coordination skillsPreferred (but not required)Experience with systems such as curtain wall, storefront, or composite panel systemsFamiliarity with Bluebeam, Planswift, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar toolsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fieldWork EnvironmentOffice-based with occasional site visits, pre-bid walkthroughs, and coordination meetingsFast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple concurrent deadlinesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experiencePerformance-based incentives or bonusesHealth, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement plan with company contributionPaid time off and holidaysOpportunities for advancement within preconstruction or operationsEqual Opportunity StatementWe are an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.
