The Bridge Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our railroad infrastructure by overseeing inspections of bridges and related structures across the network. This leadership position involves providing expert guidance based on real-time field assessments, mentoring maintenance teams, and collaborating with engineering staff to address structural concerns. The supervisor is responsible for developing effective action plans and ensuring compliance with all safety standards. This position may be based in any of the following locations within CPKC's US Track Southern Division: Pittsburg, KS; Texarkana, TX Dequeen, AR; Sallisaw, OK; Heavener, OK or Neosho, MOPOSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:Provide guidance to territory managers on optimal bridge inspection methods and maintenance strategies, contributing significantly to asset protection and operational reliabilityCoordinate and manage bridge maintenance, repair, and construction activities, encompassing tasks such as concrete restoration, steel structure repairs, and ongoing upkeepConduct thorough bridge inspections aligned with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) bridge safety standards and CPKC's industry-leading bridge safety management policies, ensuring the safety and reliability of vital infrastructureReview and audit bridge maintenance and renewal activities to confirm they adhere to CPKC's Structures Red Book guidelines, promoting consistent and high-quality standardsAssess structural assets such as bridges, overhead highway structures, culverts, retaining walls, and turntables to maintain safe and efficient operationOperate specialized bridge inspection vehicles to facilitate detailed assessments and streamline inspection processesSupervise unionized crews by coordinating their daily activities and ensuring grievances are resolved according to collective bargaining agreementsCoordinate logistics by securing required track authorities for on-track bridge inspections, prioritizing safety and operational efficiencyPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or general equivalencyValid driver's license: Class A Commercial Driver's License is an assetMinimum of 4 years' railroad bridge inspection, maintenance, or construction experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisoryBridge Inspector certificationValid passport with ability to travel to U.S./CAN without restrictionsKnowledge of field inspection, maintenance, and construction practices for railroad bridgesStrong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in computer systemsParticipate in on-call schedule for emergency response, ensuring operational coverageWHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER:Flexible and competitive benefits packageCompetitive company pension and/or retirement plansEmployee share purchase planPerformance incentive planAnnual fitness subsidyPart-time studies programPRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:Medical and Drug TestingThis is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required.
