Construction Project Engineer

Job Description We are seeking a motivated Construction Project Engineer who wants to grow their career in commercial construction while gaining hands-on experience working closely with Project Managers and field teams.Position OverviewThe Project Engineer supports the Project Manager in coordinating construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. This role focuses on project documentation, submittals, RFIs, scheduling support, and coordination with project stakeholders.This position is primarily office-based (approximately 80%), with periodic job site visits (20%) to support project coordination and quality assurance.This role offers strong growth potential for someone interested in developing into a Project Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination* Support Project Managers in coordinating multiple construction projects* Track project schedules and assist with maintaining project timelines* Maintain organized project documentationSubmittals & RFIs* Prepare and manage submittals and RFIs* Track approvals and responses from architects and general contractors* Maintain documentation in ProcoreDrawings & Specifications* Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications* Identify potential conflicts or missing informationEstimating Support* Assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates* Support cost tracking and budget monitoringField Coordination* Visit project sites as needed to coordinate with field crews* Monitor work progress and quality standardsCommunication* Coordinate with Project Managers, field staff, architects, and general contractors* Provide updates on project progress and project challengesQualificationsPreferred candidates will have:* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)* 0-3 years of construction industry experience* Ability to read construction drawings and specifications* Strong organizational and time management skills* Strong written and verbal communication skills* High attention to detailPreferred Software ExperienceExperience with the following software is helpful but not required:* Procore* Bluebeam* On-Screen Takeoff (OST)* Quick Bid* Microsoft OfficeWork LocationSalem, OR 97301In-person position Company DescriptionSkyline Construction Services is a commercial construction subcontractor specializing in interior finishes and architectural specialties.
