Job Title: Civil SuperintendentLocation: Seattle, WashingtonPosition Summary: The Civil Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily field operations on civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards. This role serves as the on-site leader, coordinating crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to deliver successful project outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Manage and supervise all on-site civil construction activities, including earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, and structural components as applicable.Plan and coordinate daily work schedules, ensuring efficient sequencing of tasks and optimal resource utilization.Lead field personnel and subcontractors, providing direction, support, and performance oversight.Enforce safety policies and procedures, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.Monitor project progress and proactively address delays, conflicts, or field issues.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project plans and specifications.Maintain accurate daily reports, including labor, equipment, production, and site conditions.Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work.Coordinate inspections and ensure all work meets quality control standards.Manage site logistics, including deliveries, equipment usage, and site access.Support cost control efforts by minimizing waste and optimizing productivity.Qualifications:Minimum 5–10 years of experience in civil construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, including site development, underground utilities, and heavy civil work.Proven ability to manage crews and subcontractors on complex projects.Solid understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with construction management software and reporting tools is preferred.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.Physical Requirements:Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Capable of walking, standing, and climbing on uneven terrain for extended periods.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.Work Environment: This position operates primarily on active construction sites and requires a hands-on leadership approach.
