P3 Pilot Instructor The P3 Pilot Instructor is responsible for training and evaluating student Pilot knowledge of P-3 systems, limits, aircraft performance, normal and emergency procedures and providing remediation when deficiencies exist.The P-3 Pilot Instructor shall maintain proficiency at, and effectively demonstrate, all normal and emergency P-3 airmanship skills in the P-3 Operational Flight Simulator in accordance with the P-3 Flight Instructors Guide.He or she must accurately evaluate the competency and proficiency of P-3 Pilots in all required areas to include Crew Resource Management, Risk Management, and all airmanship skills as defined in the CBP Aviation Training and Standardization Handbook, CBP P-3 Training and Standardization Manual, and CBP P-3 Operators Manual.Maintain an expert level of knowledge of the CBP P-3 Operators Manual and all applicable CBP Air and Marine Operations flight publications.Provide classroom instruction in aircraft systems, normal procedures, emergency procedures, FAA/ICAO instrument procedures, and P-3-specific operating techniques and standardization.Maintain proficiency in, and provide correct demonstrations, of all normal and emergency flight maneuvers in the P-3 simulator for students to emulate as needed for remediation or when required by syllabi.Create realistic and experience-appropriate flight training scenarios for flight crews of all levels of flight experience.Maintain proficiency operating the P-3 Flight simulator, simultaneously evaluating student airmanship and CRM skills, incorporating realistic air traffic control calls to create realistic flight training scenarios.Provide effective event debriefs and create accurate and detailed written documentation of student performance and trends.Report student deficiencies in a timely manner to appropriate government supervisors to maximize student Pilot performance and competency.Generate course content, including, but not limited to: course outlines with references, storyboard development, test question writing, and providing SME guidance for graphics and animations technicians.Make ongoing course improvements and updates to; training aids, student guides, grade sheets, references, and exam questions to ensure technical accuracy of all courseware and materials when flight operations guidance change.Create and provide ad-hoc training sessions for NASOC Pilots and Flight Engineers between annual training sessions.Work constructively with CBP National Air Training Center supervisors, P-3 simulator maintenance technicians, simulator reservation personnel, and NASOC scheduling officials, when simulator hardware, software, or personnel issues arise to complete training objectives.Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Must not be prone to motion sickness in flight simulators.Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.Noise level can range from minimal to intense.Must be a US Citizen.Must be able to pass a background check.Ability to obtain a secret clearance
