This is a foundational hire that will shape how we source, move, and deliver products as we scale.About the RoleWe're looking for a hands-on Director of Supply Chain to own our supply chain operations, from purchase orders and inventory management to 3PL relationships, compliance, and shipping optimization. You'll be equally comfortable building strategy and getting into the details. This role reports directly to the CEO and is a critical part of our leadership team.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & PurchasingManage inventory levels across all SKUs to prevent stockouts and minimize overstockPlace, track, and manage all purchase orders from creation through receiptBuild and maintain demand forecasting models using historical sales data and forward-looking inputsLead seasonal inventory planning in close collaboration with marketing and financePartner & 3PL ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for all 3PL and fulfillment partnersOnboard new partners:  developing scorecards, SLAs, and integration workflowsConduct regular performance reviews with partners and hold them accountable to KPIsTravel to warehouses and distribution centers to build relationships and identify operational gapsCompliance & DocumentationOrganize and maintain all compliance documentation (certs, customs, labeling, product compliance)Stay ahead of import/export regulations, tariff changes, and retailer compliance requirementsBuild and maintain SOPs for every key supply chain workflowFreight & Cost OptimizationOwn relationships with freight brokers and carriers; negotiate rates proactivelyMonitor shipment timelines and intervene early when delays are at riskAudit freight invoices and identify billing errors or overchargesIdentify consolidation and routing opportunities to reduce per-unit shipping costsStrategy & Continuous ImprovementBuild dashboards and reporting to give leadership real-time visibility into inventory health, lead times, and costsDevelop risk mitigation plans for supply disruptions, single-source suppliers, and geopolitical exposuresEvaluate and implement supply chain tools (WMS, TMS, ERP integrations) as we scalePartner with finance on cash flow planning tied to PO payment schedules and inventory cyclesWhat We’re Looking For5+ years of supply chain, logistics, or operations experience, ideally in consumer goods & e-commerceProven experience managing 3PLs, freight partners, and overseas suppliersStrong command of inventory management, demand planning, and PO workflowsExperience with compliance documentation and import/export regulationsData-driven mindset: comfortable building models in Excel/Sheets and working toward more sophisticated toolingExcellent communicator who can hold partners accountable while maintaining strong relationshipsWillingness to travel to warehouse and distribution sites as neededStartup or high-growth company experience strongly preferred - you're comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratchBonus PointsExperience with Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Walmart Marketplace, ShipHero, ShipBobExperience with international freight and customs brokerageFamiliarity with retailer compliance programs (EDI, routing guides, chargebacks)Prior experience evaluating or implementing ERP or WMS systemsBackground in sustainable sourcing or packaging initiativesCompensationBase salary: $145,000 – $180,000, commensurate with experienceComprehensive health, dental, and vision benefitsFlexible PTO and remote/hybrid flexibilityTravel stipend for on-site warehouse visits
