Remote Staff Data Engineer, Analytics Data Engineering

Role OverviewWe seek a Staff Data Engineer to join the Analytics Data Engineering team within the Data Science & AI Platform.You will address cross-cutting data challenges, standardize analytics pipeline practices, and modernize the platform by building shared data models, conformed dimensions, and a metrics framework.Collaborating with Data Science, Infrastructure, and Product teams, you will define analytics standards, design scalable models, and influence data governance.This role offers exposure to senior leadership and impact on data-driven decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement shared, reusable data models and a single source of truth for analyticsStandardize data engineering practices across teams, including pipeline patterns and data modeling standardsPartner with Infrastructure to modernize orchestration and secure development environmentsImplement data governance strategies with upstream data producersTranslate metric definitions into reliable data pipelines supporting dashboards and reportsImprove operational resilience through observability and failure recovery standardsEvaluate and incorporate AI-native tools for data development and explorationQualifications & SkillsBS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience1+ years in data or analytics engineering with increasing leadership scopeExtensive SQL experience with complex queries and optimization8+ years of Python experience developing production data pipelinesDeep expertise in dimensional data modeling and scalable architectureProficiency with orchestration tools like Airflow and dbtStrong ability to align cross-team technical standards and influence stakeholdersPreferred SkillsExperience with Databricks and modern lakehouse architecturesLeadership in orchestration/platform modernization projectsKnowledge of data governance and observability toolsExperience building metrics or semantic layersAdditional InformationThis role may involve participating in on-call rotations. Compensation ranges from $176,800 to $269,100 USD depending on location.
