As a national mental health organization, we serve a diverse group of youth and families, and we strive for our workforce to support and represent that diversity.Work Schedule & SalarySchedule: Temporary relief with availability during the hours of 5:30a-6:30p to cover breakfast, lunch & dinner shiftsSalary: $17-$19 per hourLocation: 110 N Locust, Onarga, ILWork EnvironmentMust be able to lift to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100+ pounds with assistance.Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours).Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within the residential program.Must be able to assist in proper restraining of client.This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.Benefits of the temporary relief Food Service Assistant Position at Nexus Family Healing:Flexible ScheduleEndless training on mental health & trauma informed careOngoing support of a team of trained & experienced professionalsEmployee Referral Bonus programThe Food Service Assistant will perform activities associated with the Academy food service within pre-established guidelines and requirements.ResponsibilitiesPerform Food Service Functions according to Health & Safety Standards, Policy & Procedures.Prepares and serves daily meals, snacks and beverages for residents.Collaborate with coworkers and exhibit and promote cooperation and flexibly with team members.Maintains clean, compliant food prep and storage areas.Cleans and stores dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.Handles proper food disposal and garbage processing.Assists with inventory, receiving, and stocking supplies.Food and Beverage Planning.Assists with menu planning.Supports food prep, serving, cleanup, and kitchen maintenance as needed.Helps coordinate food and beverages for special events and meetings.Remain current and adhere to all food service standard operating procedure, rules and instructions.Maintain accurate and timely records on meal counts, food usages, etc.Adhere to all food service standard operating procedure, rules and instructions.Maintains appropriate confidentiality relating to resident background and treatment; complies with all Nexus privacy and confidentiality policies and maintain appropriate boundaries with residents at all times.Attends staff meetings and training sessions required by Nexus; understands and supports the Nexus philosophy, mission, and treatment modalities.RequirementsRequired Education and Licensure:High School Diploma or GEDCertificate in Food HandlingValid driver’s license required.
