This role is ideal for experienced electrical professionals with a strong background in mission-critical environments who are passionate about technical excellence, training, and operational reliability.You’ll join a highly collaborative commissioning team responsible for accelerating vendor onboarding and ensuring the successful execution of electrical systems commissioning across expanding data center operations.What You’ll DoPrimary ResponsibilitiesInstruct and certify commissioning vendors on the proper execution of functional testing scripts for electrical data center equipmentSupport commissioning activities involving:Medium and low voltage power systemsUPS systemsGeneratorsSwitchgearPDUsElectrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)Conduct hands-on field training and competency evaluations for vendor techniciansAssess vendor performance against established standards and issue certifications upon successful completionIdentify technical skill gaps and implement corrective action plansMaintain accurate records of certifications, training completions, and evaluation outcomesAudit onsite commissioning activities to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standardsSecondary ResponsibilitiesAssist with the growth and maintenance of an accelerated vendor training programSupport the development and delivery of training materials, assessments, and hands-on exercisesProvide subject matter expertise for curriculum updates and process improvementsCollaborate closely with internal commissioning and learning & development teamsRequired QualificationsActive Journeyman Electrician License5+ years of experience commissioning electrical systems in data centers or other mission-critical facilitiesStrong knowledge of medium and low voltage power distribution systemsExperience executing functional testing scripts for electrical infrastructure equipmentAbility to read and interpret:Electrical drawingsSingle-line diagramsSpecificationsSequences of operationStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearlyExperience working in critical operations or high-reliability environmentsPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience in training, instruction, mentorship, or technical coachingFamiliarity with commissioning documentation such as test plans, scripts, and completion reportsOSHA 30 certificationExperience supporting large-scale commissioning programs with multiple vendorsFamiliarity with BMS or EPMS platformsWhat Makes This Role UniqueOpportunity to work with one of the most advanced commissioning teams in the data center industryHigh visibility within a rapidly expanding infrastructure environmentStrong collaborative culture focused on ownership, learning, and operational excellenceDirect impact on scaling critical infrastructure operationsIdeal Candidate BackgroundSuccessful candidates typically come from:Data center commissioningMission-critical electrical operationsCritical infrastructure environmentsIndustrial or large-scale electrical systems commissioningCandidates without commissioning or mission-critical infrastructure experience will not be considered.Russell Tobin offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance and employee discounts with preferred vendors.Equal Employment OpportunityRussell Tobin is an equal opportunity employer.
