Job Description The Supplier Quality Engineer will work within the Global Sourcing department, working with Commodity Managers, Logistics, New Product Development, and plant quality teams to insure supplier performance across the organization. Job Status and Location:This role is a full time role requiring in-office presence at our New London, NC location. RESPONSIBLIITIES: Manage APQP and ISIR/PPAP for supplied material. Manage defective material concerns with suppliers. Manage continuous improvement process for suppliers with repeat offenses. Partner with new product development teams and provide insight into supplier capability. Partner with engineering teams to improve system capability and ensure drawing targets and tolerances are within industry expectations. Maintain and enhance corporate processes, quality manual, supplier scorecard, ISIR/APQP database, corrective action log and folders, and other items as necessary. Perform supplier assessments through product and systems audits. Ensure suppliers uphold FBHS Code of Conduct expectations. Qualifications 3-5 years of directly related experience within a quality/manufacturing environment Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) with an emphasis in supply chain / business / engineering or relevant experience required Experience with APQP and ISIR/PPAP for supplied material Ability to read and understand engineering drawings Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphasis in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Strong analytical skills Strong communication skills Strong organization skills Ability to travel up to 25% of time PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minitab proficiency Experience with manufacturing and production processes and engineering principles Statistical analysis skill set (Gage R&R, capability, etc) Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interaction at all levels of the organization Ability to simply and clearly convey and communicate complex concepts Additional Information At Fortune Brands, we support the overall health and wellness of our associates by offering comprehensive, competitive benefits that prioritize all aspects of wellbeing and provide flexibility for our teammates’ unique needs.
