Maintenance Technician – Device Assembly and PackagingLocation: Durham, NC (Research Triangle Park Area)Contract Type: 12-Month ContractOpenings: 4Company: Brooksource Engineering ServicesClient: Industry-Leading Pharmaceutical Manufacturing PartnerPosition OverviewBrooksource Engineering Services is seeking four Expert Maintenance Technicians to support our pharmaceutical manufacturing partner in the Durham, NC area. This is a 12-month contract opportunity focused on providing maintenance expertise for process and utility equipment in a highly automated Device Assembly and Packaging environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform timely and efficient preventive and corrective maintenance activities.Prioritize safety and adhere to all applicable safety procedures and practices.Conduct and document preventive maintenance activities per provided instructions.Improve equipment uptime, line efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness through condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and engineering support.Diagnose and resolve machine issues such as excessive vibration, temperature anomalies, bearing failures, and performance degradation.Repair and overhaul equipment including gearboxes, pumps, blowers, fans, and drives, ensuring proper tolerances and alignment.Accurately document maintenance actions in the CMMS system.Assist in areas outside of primary responsibility and develop additional technical skills as needed.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Minimum of 3 years of relevant maintenance experience.Must pass background check and drug screening.Preferred Skills & ExperienceMulti-craft maintenance technician experience (minimum 3 years).QEW certification.Familiarity with servo motors, VFDs, PLCs, power supplies, load cells, RFID readers, Fanuc robots, pick-and-place systems.Experience with material handling equipment, conveyors, gluing devices, and packaging machinery.Knowledge of vacuum systems and grippers.Proficiency in English (spoken, read, and written) for technical and business communication.Competency in software tools such as Maximo, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Experience in GMP/pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.Physical ability to work around equipment, climb ladders/stairs, and use PPE.Hands-on experience with equipment repair and basic troubleshooting tools (e.g., multimeters, calipers).Prior experience with highly automated equipment.Additional InformationOvertime may be required during shutdowns, emergencies, or peak workloads.Work involves exposure to potentially hazardous equipment, powders, liquids, and gases.Safety is a top priority.This is a day shift role following a 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule.
