Construction Engineer

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Construction Engineer in the posting locations below. In this role, qualified candidates could be full-time or part-time/seasonal and will perform construction engineering services in the Central Illinois region. You will have an opportunity to work in the field on road and bridge construction projects.Posting Locations: Champaign, Effingham, Normal, Peoria, Pontiac, ILWhat You’ll DoVisit construction sites to provide quality control on construction projects to ensure plans and specifications, and local/state regulations, are being adhered to by contractorsReview plans on constructability in conjunction with the engineers and project managersPerform quality control reviews of design documents, including plans and specifications, within the area of expertiseAttend meetings with clients and project managers to convey and/or receive informationMonitor contractor construction schedules to ensure projects are completed within established timelinesPerform, observe, and record testing required by contract documents, and prepare reportsPrepare written materials to document activities for information or reference purposesWhat You’ll Need4-12 years or equivalent of related experienceBachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil EngineeringIDOT and/or ISHTA construction Phase 3 - CM experience requiredLocal Agency, federally funded construction Phase 3 - CM experience preferredActive IDOT Documentation Certification desiredOther IDOT Construction Certifications desiredExpertise with documentation requirements and inspection proceduresValid Driver’s LicenseMust be willing to work outside in various weather conditionsMust frequently lift and/ or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 40 poundsWho We AreJoin Farnsworth Group, a nationally recognized architectural, engineering, and surveying firm, where your career can thrive!
