Soni is supporting an international law firm with a strong global footprint in its search for it's initial US hires. This Fixed Term Contract HR Business Partner role is a strategic, senior-level position supporting US-based stakeholders and local office teams. The role partners closely with leadership to design and deliver people strategies aligned with business objectives, while collaborating with HR centers of excellence. It serves as a trusted advisor on workforce planning, employee relations, performance, and organizational development initiatives. The position also ensures compliance with US employment law, data protection standards, and HR policies. Based in New Haven, this role combines strategic influence with hands-on HR delivery to drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. Duties & ResponsibilitiesPartner with senior stakeholders to deliver strategic HR solutions aligned with business goalsBuild strong relationships with leadership, managers, and key stakeholders across functionsProvide expert guidance on HR policies, compliance, and US employment law requirementsUse data and insights to identify workforce trends and inform decision-makingLead and support local HR initiatives while ensuring alignment to broader HR strategyAdvise and coach leaders on performance management, employee development, and engagementManage employee relations matters, including investigations and conflict resolutionSupport workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development initiativesDrive performance management practices to improve productivity and business outcomesContribute to compensation processes, project delivery, and broader HR strategic initiatives Experience & SkillsMinimum 5+ years of HR experience, including partnering with senior leadershipStrong generalist HR expertise across the full employee lifecycleSolid knowledge of US employment law and employee relations practicesExcellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skillsDemonstrated ability in data analysis, project management, and change initiativesHigh level of discretion, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive information Compensation: $125,000-155,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
