The company invests in skilled people and modern machinery to continually enhance its capabilities and maintain high standards on every project.Role Description The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting activities to support Eclipse Co., LLC’s construction operations and projects. This full-time, on-site role in Cleveland, OH includes preparing and posting journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling bank and account balances. The role involves processing accounts payable and receivable, reviewing invoices and purchase orders, and ensuring accurate job cost tracking for multiple projects. The Accountant will assist with month-end and year-end close, support budgeting and forecasting, and prepare financial reports for management and project teams. Additional responsibilities include maintaining compliance with union requirements, supporting audits, and collaborating with operations staff to ensure timely and accurate financial information.Qualifications Strong general accounting skills, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close.Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, payment posting, and collections follow-up.Knowledge of job costing, project accounting, and cost tracking in a construction or contracting environment.Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.Understanding of basic tax, compliance, and audit support requirements for commercial and government projects.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with clear written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively on-site with operations, project managers, and leadership teams.Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant work experience in lieu of degree will be considered.Prior experience in construction, union contracting, or infrastructure projects is a plus.
