Title: Procurement Professional - Temp.Employee Status: Temporary Full TimeWork From Home Option: Hybrid - 2 Days/Week (40% Remote)FLSA Status: Non-ExemptJob OverviewReports to the Senior Procurement Manager and works collaboratively with Procurement Operations; Legal staff; Business Owners and various other departments and stakeholders to lead and develop strategic sourcing processes and to prepare and maintain high quality, compliant, consistent and accurate RFPs/RFQs/RFIs and other procurement documents. Offers expertise and assistance in identifying market trends and in developing supplier relationships; materials planning and negotiations; intervention in business conflicts; benchmarking and commodity management. Performs duties assigned and supervised by either the Senior Procurement Manager or Sr. Director of Procurement relative to daily procure to pay activity and individual projects in an independent manner.Essential Functions Ensure compliance with NYRA Procurement Department policies and procedures; Assist Business Owners with scope development and procurement strategy based on market conditions ; Facilitate sourcing events—RFPs, RFIs and RFQs across various commodities including but limited to: Construction, Real Estate, Banking, MRO, IT, Services, Advertising, Media, Office Supplies, Furniture, Vet. Med.; Security and Transportation, Banking and Cash Transfer ; Conducts Bids Openings and chairs Assessment Committees; Provides objective analysis and technical expertise to NYRA subject matter stakeholders ; Reviews documentation submitted in support of a solicitation in accordance with NYRA policy to determine responsiveness of proposals received; Provides support for legal review of awards and subsequent contract development; In collaboration with NYRA’s Legal Department, works to ensure that agreements conform to NYRA’s Terms & Conditions; Reads / reviews contracts renewals or 3rd party agreements to identify opportunities for savings and negotiates best in class pricing with vendors; Participates on negotiation teams for contracts, leases and licensing arrangements; Sources market pricing for material products and vendor services associated with NYRA’s operations; Reviews vendor insurance policies to ensure they comply with NYRA’s requirements; Performs vendor reference checks and visits vendor facilities, as warranted; Maintains up-to-date automated records in ARIBA, SAP, Monday.com, BidNet and Agiloft for all vendors and suppliers, procurements, contracts, and agreements executed, including renewal and expiration dates; Communicates with vendors and suppliers regarding pending procurements, service agreements expiration, contracts renewals, and other matters to support procure to pay operations; Other duties as assigned by the Senior Procurement ManagerQualificationsEducation (minimum): Bachelor’s degree required; An advanced degree is an assetExperience: Minimum of five (5) Years working in a diverse procurement environment Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong work ethic with an ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and react to changes in situational urgency. Must demonstrate business analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to handle and maintain complex and confidential information either of a corporate or a government related nature. Ability to work in, lead and or facilitate the development of cross functional teams. Ability to complete projects independently.Knowledge Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Procurement software (e.g. SAP/ARIBA). The ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment. Good understanding of contracts, pricing and industry standard procurement practices (Public and Commercial).Summary Of Physical Requirements And Work EnvironmentThis role is primarily sedentary and performed in an office or office-like environment with no special physical demands required. The position involves extended periods of sitting with intermittent standing and walking, as well as occasional bending, reaching, and other routine movements typical of a professional workplace.The role requires regular hand manipulation, including daily typing and repetitive hand movements while working on a computer. Occasional light lifting (generally up to 10 lbs., and infrequently up to 30 lbs.) may be required.The work environment does not typically expose the employee to hazardous conditions. There is minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as moving mechanical parts, fumes, extreme weather, or high-risk work areas.
