FACILITIES GROUNDS CREW LEADER

The purpose of the class is to supervise a crew of groundskeepers in the maintenance of grounds and grounds construction activities and to perform related work as required. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision. Duties DUTIES - Supervises two or more full-time employees, or their equivalent, on a regular basis. Plans, projects and schedules grounds crew activities over short and long-range periods and assigns priorities for their completion. Reviews projects for structural and operational safety. Monitors all activities with regard to progress and cost; advise supervisor of significant variations as required. Repairs mechanical and electrical locks and locking systems. Operates related light, medium and heavy equipment when needed. Moves furniture as necessary. May perform grounds maintenance, custodial and landscaping related duties.
