This role ensures accurate benefits administration, regulatory compliance, and effective communication of benefit offerings. In addition to core benefits responsibilities, the Benefits Administrator will have the opportunity to participate in and assist with HR special projects that support broader HR initiatives and organizational goals.Key ResponsibilitiesAdministration BenefitsAdminister a comprehensive suite of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, wellness, and leave programs.Serve as a trusted advisor to employees, guiding benefit selection based on individual needs and life circumstances.Lead annual open enrollment activities, including planning, system configuration/testing, communications, and execution.Deliver benefits education through new hire orientations and company-wide open enrollment sessions.Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA).Conduct audits, reconcile vendor invoices, and ensure accuracy of eligibility and enrollment data.Analyze benefits data, including cost, utilization, and trends, to support renewals, plan design, and budgeting decisions.Recommend and support wellness initiatives and employee engagement programs that enhance overall well-being.Vendor & Payroll CollaborationManage day-to-day relationships with benefit vendors, brokers, and carriers; resolve escalated issues effectively.Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and reportingHR Team & Special ProjectsActively collaborate with HR team members on cross-functional initiativesParticipate in and support HR special projects such as process improvements, system implementations, audits, employee engagement initiatives, and policy updatesAssist with benefits benchmarking, cost analysis, and recommendations for plan enhancementsContribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and employee experienceRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field3–5 years of experience in benefits administration, or HR operationsStrong knowledge of employee benefit plans and applicable regulatory requirementsAdvanced proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft ExcelPreferred QualificationsExperience leading open enrollment and supporting benefits renewalsKnowledge of ACA reporting and audit processesExperience with E-Verify and I-9 complianceKey CompetenciesStrong analytical skills with high attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentHigh level of discretion and confidentialityCustomer-focused mindset with a collaborative approachWork EnvironmentThis permanent role is based in Pittsburgh PA in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend, and apply complex material, data, and instruction – prepare, provide, and convey diversified information.Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.).
