This role is crucial in enhancing our diversity and inclusion efforts and improving language access services across our organization.Key ResponsibilitiesLead our Language Access Work Group to serve a diverse clientele effectively, focusing on non-English preference clients and promoting health equity.Translate essential documents and materials.Offer both in-person and virtual interpreter services.Design and conduct training sessions on language access processes and resources.Help test, track and train credentialed bilingual staff.Manage third-party vendor relationships for interpreting services and language testing.Participate actively in community outreach and maintain awareness of relevant legislative and legal updates.Contribute to diversity-related projects and assist in the preparation of materials and serving on the ColumbiaCare DEIJ committee.Assist in facilitating DEIJ training, orientations, and meetings, enhancing our commitment to an inclusive workplace.Support and engage with Employee Resource Groups to foster an inclusive environment.Develop and assist in oversight of DEIJ resources, content and communications for our internal network.The DEIJ & Language Access Coordinator will be stationed out of our Medford, OR Administrative Office Monday-Wednesday and Thursday & Friday out of our Outpatient Program Clinics also in Medford, Oregon.Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (Full Time, Day). Occasional weekend assignments for relevant community outreach such as resource fairs.What You’ll Make$27.20 - $30.00 per hour DOE/Credentials.Additional 5% Language Differential offered for Bilingual or Multilingual candidates (Spanish/English desired).About The ProgramThe DEIJ Program provides cultural direction and support organization wide. The DEIJ Program consists of the company’s DEIJ Committee, Employee Resource Groups, and Language Access Initiative. Together these workgroups and support resources help facilitate the implementation of culturally and linguistically appropriate services standards thru trainings, meetings, projects, events, resources and support.ColumbiaCare Services is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.What You’ll NeedBilingual fluency in Spanish and English is essential. Bicultural is a plus.Eligibility RequiresAssociates degree in Business, Communications, Linguistics, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is essentialPass a pre-employment bilingual certification at an advanced-mid level or higher.Have a medical interpreter certification OR be willing to complete training for certification shortly after hire.Successful applicants MUST have the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, sit, stand, walk, reach; as well as lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds. It may require the ability to occasionally climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, squat/kneel, and perform other physical tasks as applicable. In addition, you must successfully complete crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, which require performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques.
