Structural Welder
OverviewJob DescriptionThe Welder is responsible for fabricating and welding metal aluminum boxes for industrial electrical control panels, as well as performing structural welding to build frames for E-House projects. The role requires proficiency in multiple welding techniques, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and adherence to strict quality and safety standards. Candidates must pass a weld test and demonstrate skills with TIG, MIG, and arc welding on various gauges and heavy tubing.Key ResponsibilitiesWeld metal components using TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding techniquesPerform structural welding (4G, 3G) for E-House framesMeasure, cut, and prepare materials according to project specificationsRead and interpret blueprints prior to starting each projectSource and prepare materials for welding projectsInspect finished welds to ensure they meet blueprint tolerances and quality standardsMaintain a safe and clean work environment, using provided safety equipment at all timesKnowledge And Experience RequirementsProficient in various welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel weldingKnowledge of both manual and mechanical welding processesFamiliarity with metallurgy and material properties relevant to weldingAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsStrong attention to detail and quality controlExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPrior experience with welding 12, 14, 16 gauge materials and heavy tubing (1/4" and 3/8" wall)Core CompetenciesPrecision and attention to detailStrong technical welding skillsAbility to follow safety and quality standardsTime management and project organizationProblem-solving and troubleshooting welding challengesTeamwork and collaboration in a manufacturing environmentSkills And SpecificationsAbility to pass TIG/MIG weld test on multiple gauges and tubingProficiency in measuring, cutting, and preparing materialsAbility to verify finished work against blueprint tolerancesPhysical stamina for welding tasks, including standing, lifting, and handling materialsKnowledge of welding safety protocols and use of PPEMust meet the physical demands of welding, including standing for extended periods, lifting materials, and handling welding equipmentManual dexterity for precise welding and material handlingWork ConditionsClean work clothes with steel-toed boots preferredSafety equipment provided and required to be worn at all timesIndustrial manufacturing environment with exposure to metalworking, welding fumes, and machineryAvailable Shifts Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM (swing shift)$3 an hour shift differential for swing scheduleCompany DescriptionQuality Electrical Systems (QES) is a leading manufacturer of custom-engineered electrical distribution equipment based in West Jordan, Utah.
