Groundsmen play a critical role on the jobsite by supporting climbers and equipment operators, maintaining safe work zones, and keeping production moving efficiently.This position offers a clear path for advancement into climbing, equipment operation, plant health care (PHC), or crew leadership roles.What You'll DoDrag brush, handle debris, and support jobsite cleanupFeed and monitor the chipper under direction of the crew leaderUse hand tools, blowers, saws, and other ground-based equipmentSet up and maintain safe, organized work zones with cones and signageCommunicate clearly with climbers and crew leadersAssist with rigging support from the groundParticipate in daily safety briefings and hazard assessmentsFollow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all timesEntry-Level GroundsmanLearning tree care operations, tools, and safety proceduresSupporting production and cleanup under supervisionIntermediate GroundsmanWorking independently on ground operationsAssisting with rigging support and jobsite organizationSupporting and mentoring newer team membersAdvanced Groundsman / Ground LeadLeading ground operations on siteSupporting crew leadership with safety, communication, and production flowMentoring and training entry-level groundsmenWhat We're Looking ForStrong work ethic and willingness to learnAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditionsGood communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to safety and professionalismPrior landscaping or tree care experience is a plus, but not requiredWhat We OfferCompetitive pay based on experience and skill levelFull-time, year-round workClear career advancement paths within the Arbor DivisionTraining, mentorship, and skill developmentStrong safety culture and supportive team environment
