Database Reliability Engineer / Cloud Security Engineer

Role DescriptionMaintain reliable database services and strengthen the security of cloud infrastructure. Work with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to improve availability, protect sensitive data, automate operations, and resolve production issues.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor database availability, performance, and capacity, and resolve operational issues.Manage backups, replication, failover, and recovery testing.Implement cloud access controls, encryption, network protections, and secure configurations.Automate infrastructure provisioning, database maintenance, and security checks.Assess vulnerabilities and configuration risks and coordinate remediation.Respond to incidents, investigate root causes, and implement preventive improvements.Maintain monitoring, technical documentation, and operational runbooks.QualificationsDegree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Relevant experience in database operations, cloud infrastructure, or security engineering.Proficiency in SQL and experience administering production databases.Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.Understanding of database recovery, high availability, identity management, and cloud security.Experience with scripting, infrastructure as code, and monitoring tools.Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.Relevant cloud, database, or security certifications are an advantage.
