Associate Corporate Counsel
Epitec is seeking an experienced Associate Corporate Counsel to join our automotive client's team. As an Associate Corporate Counsel, the candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting a major automotive organization by advising on commercial, product, and technology-driven legal matters.This is a 6-month W2 contract with potential for conversion/extensionThis is a hybrid opening - 3 days onsite required (Preferred locations: Michigan, Georgia, or California)This position offers $56.25/hour and medical/retirement contributions (if desired)Responsibilities:Provide day-to-day legal counsel to engineering, product, and business teams to ensure legal considerations are embedded in technology and product developmentNegotiate, draft, and review commercial and technology-related agreements, including licensing, vendor, services, NDAs, development, procurement, proofs of concept, and technology transfer agreementsAdvise on intellectual property matters, including protection, commercialization, and licensingSupport data privacy and security compliance related to products and services, including GDPR and CCPA considerationsProvide guidance on employment law matters, including employee relations, investigations, and workplace policiesSupport litigation activities such as fact gathering, coordination with outside counsel, litigation strategy development, and internal trackingAdvise on legal issues related to AI and emerging technologies, including ethical considerations, regulatory developments, and risk assessmentsConduct legal research on new and emerging legal issues impacting the businessProvide general corporate legal support across compliance, governance, operations, and corporate policiesQualifications:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolAdmission to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar (California, Michigan, or Georgia preferred)Strong commercial contracting and tech transactions experienceAbility to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical, business-focused adviceExperience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing prioritiesStrong research, writing, analytical, and communication skillsComfortable supporting cross-functional teams, including engineering and product organizationsExposure to or familiarity with litigation supportInterest in or experience with data privacy, AI, and emerging technology issuesTechnical background not required, but willingness to quickly learn relevant software, hardware, and product concepts
