Farmingdale State College seeks a Dean of Extended and Experiential Learning to provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the Division of Extended and Experiential Learning, encompassing professional and continuing education, as well as extended education and experiential initiatives including pre-college and concurrent enrollment programs, research-aligned learning opportunities, lifelong learning programs, and interinstitutional partnerships.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Provost, the Dean advances the College's mission by expanding access to high-quality educational opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and fostering innovative educational pathways that serve learners across the educational continuum. The Division supports high school students, undergraduate students, adult learners, retirees, and community and institutional partners through academically rigorous and experiential learning experiences.
As a senior academic leader, the Dean is responsible for division-wide strategic planning, operational leadership, fiscal oversight, and continuous improvement. The Dean supervises directors and professional staff and collaborates with faculty, academic departments, College leadership, and external stakeholders to support experiential learning, student success, and institutional priorities. Responsibilities include oversight of budgets and revenue generating programs, stewardship of resources, assessment and accreditation activities, development and revision of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and alignment with best practices. The Dean represents the Division within College governance structures and in external forums.
The Dean ensures alignment with institutional priorities, SUNY policies, and best practices in extended and experiential education, while promoting programmatic innovation, effective delivery models, and partnerships that enhance access, engagement, and educational impact.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree.
Demonstrate significant progressively responsible experience in higher education administration.
Experience overseeing complex programs, budgets, and personnel.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across academic and administrative units.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral degree.
Experience leading professional and continuing education programs, pre-college or concurrent enrollment initiatives, experiential learning, or undergraduate research programs.
Experience working closely with faculty and external partners, as well as experience with strategic planning, assessment, and program evaluation, is also desirable.
