IT Business Systems Analyst

Job Summary
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for internal customers. Ensure technology solutions align with business needs and strategic goals. Design, document, test, and leverage solutions.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities
Interface with business stakeholders and IT infrastructure teams to define, gather, and document business processes and needs, and translate them into detailed functional specifications for development. Perform business systems and process analysis of existing systems/processes. Conduct interviews and requirements gathering workshops. Ensure sign-off of all artifacts.
Coordinate requirements for new and existing applications. Assist in testing, training plan development and training, support for users, and developing user documentation (e.g., web manuals, reference guides). Participate in QA processes; identify test cases; explain complex processes; aid in developing test plans.
Develop detailed business cases, ROI calculations, value definition, cost assessments (expense/capital), benefits, and risk analyses.
Coordinate project tasks and project life cycle phases for small to mid-size projects (e.g., defining requirements, documentation, and process flows) to meet customer goals and requirements.
Coordinate communication with the client and prioritize delivery of IT services.
Conduct root cause analysis using knowledge of applications, interfaces, and technology for defect resolution.
Assist with scope definition and implementation of a solution.
Nature and Scope
Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in complex research/data.
Nature of work requires increasing independence; guidance is provided on unusual, complex problems. Work is typically reviewed periodically by a supervisor and/or direct customers.
May provide general guidance or train junior level support or professional personnel.
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent unpleasant conditions.
Typically sits in a comfortable position with opportunities to move; occasional light lifting may be required.
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Education And Experience
Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2–5 years of experience in a related field, OR MS/MA with generally 2–4 years of experience. Certification is required in some areas.
Preferred Qualifications
3–5+ years' proven experience as a BSA in Marketing and Sales or a similar role – REQUIRED
3+ years proven experience implementing IT solutions including processes, applications, data, and technology – REQUIRED
Strong knowledge of working with integrated applications in an agile environment – REQUIRED
Proven ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines – REQUIRED
Understanding of system interfaces and documenting functional requirements – REQUIRED
Collaborating with developers and stakeholders to test and verify that solutions meet business requirements – REQUIRED
Experience in a distributed team environment with IT change management processes – PREFERRED
Experience with Marketing technology tools (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Form Assembly) – PREFERRED
Experience with Data Visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) – PREFERRED
Experience with Oracle EBS or other ERP systems (e.g., SAP) – PLUS
Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics) – PLUS
Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps – PLUS
Experience with automation, including AI, in solutioning business processes – PLUS
Ability to formulate ROIs and evaluate cost savings – PLUS
Strong relationship-building and communication skills (written and verbal)
Additional Details
This position may be remote or hybrid based on location. Work is performed in Eastern Time (8:00–17:00). Eligible candidates residing in the greater Atlanta area may be asked to work two days per week in our Doraville, GA Field Support Center.
