Job DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: Dining SupervisorSUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Director of CulinarySTATUS: Salary / ExemptSummaryThe Dining Supervisor provides full-scope, hands on dining room management in the Dining program. Responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality, service, and cleanliness at all times.Essential Functions, Duties And ResponsiblitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities described below are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the basic functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.Responsible for the overall operations, coordination, appearance, and maintenance of dining room and serving team members in order to create and maintain a positive experience for all customers.Provide leadership, development / training, counseling, and company standards with all serving team members.Exemplify at all times community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and organization.Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.Ensure company standards for a full staffed, operational and stocked dining room.Exhibit serving standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.Knowledge in all areas of serving, customer service, and shift / staffing organization.Set tables and maintain work stations in proper order. Take orders, provide service and requested items both graciously and courteously. Answer pertinent questions about menu items.Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service, assist with dish washing.Serve customers using proper serving etiquette and promote an inviting dining atmosphere.Knowledge of diets provided and served correctly per policy and procedure.Proper management of dining room labor budget guidelines.The community embraces a culture of hospitality. To that end, all team members are expected as a condition of employment to practice excellent customer service in all interactions with residents, fellow team members, and guests.Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.Observe all community policies and procedures.Accept assigned duties, instructions or correction in a cooperative manner, voicing concerns or disagreement in a professional manner through established chain of authority according to state procedures.Perform incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks as may arise during the course of regular duties, in order to maintain a clean, safe, pleasant environment for residents, visitors and team members.Perform all other related duties as assigned in an effective, timely, and professional manner.EducationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school education or equivalent.ExperienceThree years of restaurant or senior living dining serving experience and leading a team preferred.MathematicalSkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning SkillsLeadership, creating and maintaining team member schedules.Oral/WrittenCommunication SkillsStrong interpersonal, teamwork skills. Ability to routinely process written information as in policies and procedures, posted notices, instruction materials. Complete forms and other written documentation. Observe resident actions, gestures, facial expressions.Equipment UsedStandard food production equipment for quantity foodpreparation.Personal computerPhysical EffortMust be mobile. Must be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.Personal CharacteristicsPossesses good character and displays high degree of personal integrity. Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults.
