Chassis, Reefer, Crane, and Power Mechanic Apprentice
Job Duties:Inspect, maintain, and repair all chassis, refrigerated units, power packs, gensets, transformers and other company equipment as required. Perform appropriate preventative maintenance for all equipment. Ensure that all equipment is in working order and can be used safely by inspecting, repairing, and testing equipment. Build and assemble mechanical components on various types of equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, brakes, pneumatic, and suspension components. Diagnose, repair, and program refrigeration systems. Perform welding and cutting as needed to complete required work. Perform inspection and repair tasks to meet the requirements of various programs. Inspect and repair to meet Federal and State DOT Safety Inspection standards. Communicate to management promptly and effectively any issues or problems with equipmentAny and all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:Able to competently perform job duties described above. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a valid TWIC card. Available for shift work - days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Capable of working under pressure and being a “team-player”. Must be able to acquire a PUC Physical card. Preferred Qualifications:2+ years of experience in heavy machinery maintenance. Experience working with diagnosing and repair of wet brake system. Experience with Electric Vehicles. Valid CDL License Type A or B. EPA Refrigerant Certified. ASE Air Brakes and/or Manufacture Air Brakes Trained. ARC, MIG, and gas welding Certification. Proficient in ARC and MIG and gas welding and the use of a cutting torch.
