Location: Remote Company: Farmers Life Insurance CompanyFarmers Life Insurance Company is a small but rapidly growing annuity-focused insurance company seeking a motivated attorney to join our legal and compliance team as Corporate & Insurance Regulatory Counsel.This role offers substantial responsibility and direct exposure to executive leadership across a broad range of corporate, transactional, governance, regulatory, compliance, and operational matters. The position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys sophisticated legal work, practical business counseling, and contributing in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where they can make a meaningful impact.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise management and business teams on corporate governance, insurance regulatory, compliance, transactional, and operational mattersPrepare and manage insurance regulatory filings, policies, and compliance documentationConduct legal research and provide practical legal guidance on evolving regulatory issuesAssist with corporate transactions, including reinsurance agreements and strategic initiativesCoordinate with insurance regulators, outside counsel, and other external stakeholdersSupport board and committee governance processes, materials, and documentationMonitor legal and regulatory developments impacting insurance and annuity operationsCollaborate cross-functionally with leadership and operational teams on business initiatives and risk managementQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolLicensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction1–5 years of legal experienceStrong drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to independently manage projects in a fast-paced environmentExperience with insurance regulatory, corporate, or transactional matters preferredPrior law firm and/or in-house experience welcomedWhat We OfferFully remote work environmentSophisticated and varied legal practiceDirect interaction with executive leadership and strategic initiativesCollaborative, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented cultureOpportunity for long-term professional development and advancementCompetitive compensation and benefits package
