Systems Integration EngineerBlackrock Strategy, Inc. | National Capital Region (Washington, DC Area) | Full-Time | Active Secret Clearance Required (TS/SCI Eligible) Blackrock Strategy, Inc. is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to support the integration, evaluation, troubleshooting, and operational alignment of mission systems across complex defense and national security environments. This role sits at the crossroads of engineering, mission execution, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring that technologies are both developed and effectively integrated into real-world operations. You will work directly with government stakeholders, engineering teams, program leadership, and operational partners to identify integration risks early, align technical execution with mission objectives, and support the transition of technologies into operational environments. This role is designed for engineers who enjoy solving cross-functional integration challenges, understanding how systems behave in operational environments, and helping bridge the gap between technical development and mission execution.LOCATION REQUIREMENT This position supports efforts within the National Capital Region (Washington, DC area). Applicants must: Reside within commuting distance of the NCR/DC areaOR Be willing to relocate prior to the start date WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON Mission systems integration and operational assessments Emerging defense technologies and mission-focused engineering efforts Cross-functional coordination across engineering, program, and operational teams Technical tradeoff analysis and system evaluation Integration challenges involving hardware, software, interfaces, and operational workflows Technologies transitioning from development into operational use Stakeholder coordination and mission-focused technical decision support Potential technology areas may include: ISR systems RF and communications systems Sensors and mission systems Tactical networking Autonomy platforms Defense software systems Operational data and interface integration KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support mission systems integration and assessment efforts across operational environments Support integration and assessment of hardware/software mission systems and operational workflows Evaluate system performance and identify integration gaps across systems, interfaces, and dependencies Participate in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and operational issue resolution activities Analyze technical data and translate findings into clear, actionable guidance for leadership and stakeholders Coordinate across government stakeholders, engineering teams, and program leadership Contribute to technical documentation, briefings, reports, and system assessments Support evaluation and transition of emerging technologies into operational use Maintain awareness of system architectures, interfaces, dependencies, and operational constraints Assist in aligning technical execution across multiple organizations and stakeholders Help identify integration risks, technical gaps, and operational concerns early in the development lifecycle REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (ABET preferred) 5+ years of experience supporting systems engineering, mission systems integration, technical advisory, operational engineering, or integration & test environments Experience supporting defense, aerospace, intelligence community, or government programs Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences Experience operating across multidisciplinary teams or stakeholder organizations Ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments Active DoD Secret clearance Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance U.S. Citizenship required Ideal candidates will typically have experience supporting mission-focused engineering, integration, operational assessment, or stakeholder coordination efforts within complex defense environments.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience supporting government program offices, advisory roles, or integration-focused environments Familiarity with ISR systems, RF systems, sensors, autonomy platforms, tactical communications, or mission systems Experience preparing or delivering executive-level briefings or technical summaries Experience supporting cross-organizational coordination and integration efforts Experience evaluating technical tradeoffs, integration dependencies, or operational constraints Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle processes or Agile development environments BENEFITS 401(k) with company matching Employer-paid employee medical, dental, and vision insurance Employer-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage Health Savings Account (HSA) option with employer contributions Paid time off and parental leave Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Referral bonus program Flexible scheduling opportunities based on operational needs WORK ENVIRONMENT Collaborative, mission-driven environment supporting high-priority defense efforts Frequent coordination across government stakeholders, engineering teams, and program leadership Primarily onsite based on mission requirements Up to approximately 25% travel may be required Work performed across office, government, and operational environments depending on mission activities EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Blackrock Strategy, Inc. is a federal contractor and an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a workplace free from discrimination.
