Director of Faith Formation (PT), St. Andre Bessette Parish, Amesbury

We are seeking a mission-driven Catholic disciple who feels called to evangelization through family faith formation. This pastoral role supports parents, children, and volunteers in encountering Jesus Christ and growing together as families of faith. The Director of Family Faith Formation will help families rediscover their identity as missionary disciples and assist the parish in becoming a place where faith is lived, shared, and joyfully handed on.Our parish is ready to move from a traditional classroom-based model to a family-centered, evangelizing approach-one that equips parents as the primary catechists of their children and forms households as disciples. Working closely with the pastor, this person will help discern, develop, and implement a family faith formation program suited to our parish community. If you-or someone you know-feels stirred by this mission, we would love to discern next steps together.Reports to: PastorStatus: Part-time (8-12 hours per week)ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the pastor to develop, organize, and implement an evangelizing, family-focused faith formation program for children and familiesCoordinate sacramental preparation for First Penance, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation, including rehearsals, ceremonies, and a Confirmation retreatRecruit, train, support, and mentor volunteer catechists, assisting them in their own spiritual growthCoordinate child safety procedures in accordance with state and archdiocesan requirements, including CORI forms and Protecting God's Children / Virtus training for adults, as well as safe-environment lessons for children and familiesWork collaboratively with clergy, parish staff, and parishionersMaintain professional relationships with local and archdiocesan faith formation leadersExercise pastoral sensitivity and maintain appropriate confidentialityQualificationsPracticing Roman Catholic committed to building a culture of discipleship among children and familiesUnderstanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church and familiarity with Sacred ScriptureAbility to motivate children and parents with flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for helping others fall in love with Christ and the ChurchStrong communication and organizational skills; confident public speakerAbility to work both independently and collaboratively with parish staff and volunteer catechistsCommitment to ongoing professional and spiritual developmentAvailability at times convenient to families, including some Sunday mornings and eveningsPhysical Performance RequirementsAbility to work at a computer for extended periodsAbility to remain seated or move about the parish campus as neededAbility to lift and carry light materials (up to 20 pounds)
