We deliver turnkey solutions using industry-leading technologies combined with exceptional service for superior customer performance.About the OpportunitySolaris is seeking a dedicated Project Cost Accountant to join the SPS segment accounting team. This role will focus primarily on supporting a major multi-million dollar construction project, ensuring accurate tracking of costs, budget adherence, and financial transparency throughout the project lifecycle. The position will involve close collaboration with Operations, regular attendance at project update meetings, and proactive analysis to support timely decision-making and project success. The role will also contribute to broader Accounting Department objectives, including monthly closings and financial reporting.Essential FunctionsTrack and monitor budget-to-actual spend for the multi-million dollar construction project, identifying variances and providing timely explanations and forecasts. Attend project update meetings with Operations and other stakeholders to gather insights on progress, changes, and emerging cost drivers. Perform detailed cost analysis, including labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and subcontractor expenses related to the project. Prepare regular project cost reports, forecasts, variance analyses, and dashboards to support management and project team decision-making. Assist in establishing and maintaining project-specific budgets, cost codes, and tracking systems within the ERP environment. Review and validate project-related invoices, purchase orders, and change orders for accurate coding, allocation, and compliance. Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve cost discrepancies, investigate overruns, and recommend corrective actions. Support integration of project financial data into overall segment and company reporting, ensuring alignment with GAAP and internal controls. Contribute to monthly close processes by providing project accruals, reconciliations, and other required inputs.
