Lab Retain

Responsible for the all activities involving sample handling including receiving, tracking, storage and disposal.Primary Duties And Responsibilities Responsible for logging in, tracking, correctly storing and disposing of all samples Familiar with American Petroleum Institute (API) procedures and documents as they relate to samples Familiar with EPA regulations governing samples particularly as they relate to disposal and maintenance of disposal records Carry out the assigned tasks in accordance with the latest industry standards and practices and in accordance with the specific instructions given by the Laboratory manager and/or supervisor Responsible for the correct preparation of all reports pertaining to samples Responsible for keeping retain and storage area clean, organized and free from safety hazards at all times Attendance at monthly safety meetings is required Safety Sensitive position that requires pre-employment, random and annual drug and alcohol testing (including marijuana testing).Required Skills High school diploma and related experience in the industry preferable. Ability to read, write and clearly communicate in English Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, schedulers, and clients. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats. Familiarity with basic computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet programs Ability to interact with office and laboratory personnel in a proper, professional and business-like mannerWorking ConditionsThe employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. AmSpec Services providesproduct information, training, engineering controls, and personal protective equipment in an effort to protect employeesfrom exposure to potentially harmful levels of those materials. Employees are required to read product information, useavailable engineering controls, follow guidelines presented during training, and be able to wear and use appropriateprotective equipment, including respiratory protective equipment, as may be required by the work environment. The noiselevel in the work environment is usually moderate.Physical RequirementsPass a drug and alcohol test specified by AmSpecPass an annual Pulmonary Fitness and Respirator Fit TestPass a physical examination by a physician designated by AmSpec Services, both before employment and at any timeduring employment upon request of AmSpec Services to confirm the Surveyor’s ability to perform the essential jobfunctions of the position.Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry boxes weighing up to 45lbs.Ability to work in the presence of odors, typical of petroleum or petrochemicals, without allergic reactions or nausea whensuch odors are within OSHA-designated permissible exposure limits (PELs).
