The Role
As a Data Engineer & Systems Analyst at Tjoapack, you will combine data engineering, business systems expertise, and advanced analytics to enhance decision-making and operational performance across our global organization.
Reporting to the Director of Technology, you will support stakeholders in both the USA and the Netherlands. You will build and maintain data pipelines, serve as a power user of our ERP systems, and deliver analytics, dashboards, and machine learning insights that drive strategic outcomes.
This role bridges technical infrastructure and business strategy—ensuring clean, reliable data flows into meaningful KPIs, reports, and recommendations that influence executive decisions and operational success.
️ A Day in the Life
Your day may begin by monitoring a data pipeline that extracts ERP production data, troubleshooting a transformation issue, or optimizing a SQL query to improve performance.
Later, you might meet with Finance, Operations, or Supply Chain leaders to understand a reporting need, translate it into a dashboard solution in Tableau or Microsoft Power BI, and present actionable insights backed by statistical analysis or predictive modeling.
Throughout the day, you will balance foundational data architecture work with stakeholder engagement—ensuring our US site and global teams operate from consistent, accurate, and strategically aligned data.
️ What You’ll Do
️ Data Engineering & Pipeline Infrastructure (40%)
Build and maintain data pipelines that extract and integrate data from ERP and business applications
Convert legacy or manual workflows into scalable, robust data solutions
Design data transformations to ensure clean, reliable datasets for reporting and analytics
Monitor data quality and troubleshoot pipeline issues
Document data flows, architecture, and technical processes
Support the development of foundational data structures and integrations for scalable analytics
Data Analysis, Reporting & Visualization
Analyze large datasets using statistical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and correlations
Perform data cleansing, transformation, and validation
Develop interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI
Translate complex findings into compelling, easy-to-understand visualizations for stakeholders
Support ad hoc analysis requests from leadership and cross-functional departments
Data-Driven Decision Making & Strategic Insights
Leverage analytics and machine learning to answer complex business questions
Provide evidence-based recommendations that influence operational and strategic decisions
Develop and implement KPIs and performance metrics aligned with organizational goals
Identify hidden patterns or anomalies using data mining techniques (clustering, regression, classification)
Partner with global teams to ensure consistency in data definitions and reporting across sites
️ Data Governance & Strategy Alignment
Align analytics initiatives with organizational strategy and business objectives
Contribute to establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks
Define data standards and implement data quality processes
Monitor data integrity, consistency, and compliance across systems
Create a roadmap to evolve data capabilities toward predictive analytics readiness
️ Business Systems & ERP Support (60%)
Serve as a power user and reporting expert within ERP platforms
Configure and maintain custom ERP reports
Extract and integrate data when standard system reporting does not meet business needs
Train end users on system capabilities, dashboards, and reporting tools
Support major ERP implementations and system enhancements
Act as a key resource for business systems expertise at the US site
Project & Change Management
Participate in cross-functional projects supporting system and process improvements
Train teams in new reporting tools, methods, or technologies
Support implementation of change management initiatives related to data systems
Initiate and/or support RCA, CC, CAPA, RA, and validation activities in alignment with Tjoapack procedures
What We’re Looking For
3–5 years of experience in data analysis, business systems, or similar roles (manufacturing environment preferred)
Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing data
Python experience (pandas, API integrations, data manipulation); R is a plus
Experience building dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI
Familiarity with ERP systems and enterprise business applications
Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning model development
Understanding of ETL concepts and data modeling
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced, global environment
Familiarity with cGMP/cGDP is a plus
