*Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are ready for the cooking process. This position is perfect for individuals who have a keen interest in the food industry and are eager to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced environment. *Duties* - Assist in the preparation of food items according to established recipes and standards. - Ensure all food handling and safety procedures are followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. - Organize and maintain kitchen inventory, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies. - Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. - Help in the cleaning and sanitization of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas. - Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs when required. - Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. *Skills* - Experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food service setting is preferred. - Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations is essential. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail. - Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members. - A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques and recipes. - Previous experience as a cook or dietary aide is a plus but not required.
