Shift: 1st Weekend (Fri - Sun) 12hrsJob SummaryThe Manufacturing Engineer – Large Form Assembly (Entry Level) supports LFA manufacturing operations through the development, maintenance, and improvement of assembly processes. This role focuses on assisting with manufacturing work instructions, supporting production builds, and applying Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles for large, complex assemblies. The position works closely with senior engineers and production teams to ensure engineering documentation aligns with manufacturing execution.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssist in developing, reviewing, and maintaining manufacturing documentation including work instructions, assembly drawings, exploded views, torque specifications, bills of material, and process flow documentation. Review product designs and drawings with guidance to identify manufacturability, accessibility, and assembly concerns. Support standardized assembly methods including fastening practices, torque application, sealing interfaces, and alignment techniques. Support layout and installation activities for large-form subassemblies such as frames, enclosures, piping, hoses, brackets, and structural components. Assist with build sequence development to improve safety, ergonomics, takt time, and labor efficiency. Work with Industrial, Electrical, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support assembly flow and issue resolution. Provide manufacturing floor support during builds, helping troubleshoot basic fit, interference, and assembly issues. Support equipment commissioning, FAT/SAT, and manufacturing readiness activities. Maintain controlled documentation updates during NPI, production ramps, and sustaining production. Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on quality, safety, cost, and standardization. Follow established safety, quality, and documentation control practices. Education & Experience RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production support, internships, or co-op roles. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly prints; exposure to GD&T preferred. Exposure to manufacturing or assembly environments (academic projects, internships, or entry-level roles). Basic experience creating or updating work instructions, standard work, or visual aids is a plus. Familiarity with hand tools, torque tools, fixtures, or assembly aids preferred. Understanding of general manufacturing and safety practices (e.g., OSHA fundamentals). Specialized Knowledge / SkillsFoundational understanding of manufacturing engineering principles and assembly processes. CAD exposure (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or equivalent) for viewing or redlining documents. Basic knowledge of fastening methods, torque concepts, and assembly sequencing. Willingness and ability to learn large-form assembly methods and manufacturing best practices. Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline. Good communication and teamwork skills in a production environment.
