Job Title: Fish Market ManagerLocation: Crab Boat Owners Association2907 Jones St, San Francisco, CA 94133Reports To: Sarah Bates, Commercial Fishing CaptainEmployment Type: Part-time, 20hrs / Week About Greenling Fish (Greenlingfish.com)We believe seafood should be local, transparent, and deeply connected to the people and places that bring it to the dock. Our mission is to make sustainably caught, high-quality seafood accessible while supporting small-boat fishermen and the working San Francisco waterfront. This retail fish market and educational project exists for people who care about who catches their fish, where it comes from, and how it’s caught. We work directly with small boat fishermen to offer seafood that is responsibly harvested, fully traceable, and handled with care from sea to table.Beyond selling fish, we aim to increase visibility into food production and the realities of commercial fishing — the regulations, risks, and pressures facing San Francisco’s commercial fishing fleet. We also believe good seafood should be enjoyed with confidence, so we focus on helping people learn about sustainable fishing practices, how to cook fish, unfamiliar (but delicious!) species, and build curiosity in the kitchen.Rooted in honesty and integrity, our values are: exceptional quality, sustainability and traceability, and a commitment to hyperlocal food systems. Whether you’re a San Francisco local looking to support sustainable fisheries or a visitor curious about the city’s maritime culture, we invite people to connect more deeply with the seafood they eat — and the fishers who make it happen.Position SummaryThe Market Manager helps keep Greenling Fish Market running smoothly, growing steadily, and having a good time while doing it.
